Job summary

Steatite Ltd in Herefordshire, United Kingdom, is seeking a proactive Finance Manager to steer reporting, controls, and commercial insight during a period of change. You will work closely with the Finance Controller, oversee monthly management and statutory reporting, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cross‑functional commercial decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Ability to streamline processes and implement best practices.
• Experience in a multi-currency environment.
• Good understanding of VAT and taxation compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor/MS Dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management and group reporting including P&L and balance sheet.
• Support divisions' forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Assist in commercial decision-making with financial insights.
• Prepare statutory returns, VAT, and other taxation filings.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and inter‑company entries.
• Oversee payroll and pension administration with external provider.
• P11D and P60 reporting; support ad hoc finance projects.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded Finance Manager to support our business through a significant period of change. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in evolving environments, and is motivated by the opportunity to help shape processes and ways of working. Initially, the role will be broad and fluid as the business transitions, with the scope becoming more defined over time. You will work closely with the Finance Controller, supporting in delivering accurate reporting, strengthening financial controls, and providing insight to operational and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management and group reporting, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, Budget Variance Analysis, and Key Financial Metrics
• Supporting the divisions forecasting and budgeting process
• Supporting commercial decision‑making
• Supporting the preparation of all statutory returns, including VAT and all applicable taxation
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including inter‑company entries
• Payroll and pension administration with outsourced provider
• P11D and P60 reporting
• Any other duties as the business may require within your capabilities

Skills & Experience

• Excellent IT skills, including MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems

Desirable

• ACCA / CIMA or ACA qualification
• Experience in a multi‑currency business
• Experience with Epicor and MS Dynamics Accounting Systems
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
