AtkinsClarke is seeking a Finance Manager for a leading professional services organisation, acting as the key finance partner within a client-facing division and linking day-to-day operational performance with commercial outcomes.

This is a hands-on role for a qualified accountant, with responsibility for governance, revenue protection and profitability reporting across client engagements. Office-based in the East Midlands and offering exposure to senior finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by significant relevant experience.
• Strong operational finance background in professional services, business services or a similar environment.
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable investigating variances and challenging assumptions.
• Experience of revenue, margin, billing and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong general finance systems literacy.
• Confident communicator, able to present financial insight to non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

• Supporting preparation of monthly management accounts, weekly flash reporting and forecasts.
• Preparing and reviewing revenue, cost of sales, margin schedules and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Leading client-level profitability reporting across fixed-fee and time-and-materials engagements.
• Maintaining billing and revenue protection controls, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
• Reviewing operational KPIs and benchmarking actual performance against client budgets.
• Supporting budgeting and reforecasting for client engagements, partnering closely with operations.

AtkinsClarke are supporting the search for a Finance Manager on behalf of a leading professional services organisation, providing dedicated finance and controllership support across one of its key client-facing divisions.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role suited to a qualified accountant with a background in professional or business services, acting as the key finance partner within the division and linking day-to-day operational performance with commercial and financial outcomes.

OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Financial Director, the Finance Manager will provide finance and controllership support across the division, with a strong focus on client profitability, margin protection and financial governance.

Key responsibilities include:

We are seeking a qualified accountant with strong operational finance experience gained within professional services, business services or a comparable client-contract environment.

You will bring:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by significant relevant experience
• Strong operational finance background in professional services, business services or a similar environment
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable investigating variances and challenging assumptions
• Experience of revenue, margin, billing and balance sheet reconciliation
