Job summary

IPS Group is seeking a recently qualified accountant to move from practice or industry into a consulting division, delivering finance manager support for a portfolio of clients in the UK. The role involves hands-on finance delivery, management reporting and strategic commercial insight across multiple sectors.

You will own client engagements, prepare monthly management accounts, support with fractional FD and advisory work, and build lasting relationships through reliable delivery and clear

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in management accounts.
• Experience preparing and reviewing management accounts; practice or industry.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with multiple accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of finance delivery for a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact.
• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Providing clear financial reporting, commentary and commercial insight to clients.
• Supporting senior colleagues with fractional FD and advisory work.
• Building strong, long-term client relationships through effective communication and reliable delivery.
• Identifying opportunities to add value and contribute to business development.
• Working across different businesses and sectors, gaining broad commercial exposure.

Opportunity for a recently qualified accountant seeking a move from practice or industry to work in a consulting division of a leading UK professional services firm providing a finance manager support across a range of clients.

The role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, providing hands‑on finance support, management reporting and commercial insight. It would suit a qualified accountant looking to move from practice into industry‑style finance, or an experienced industry accountant who enjoys working with multiple businesses and clients.

The role;

• Taking ownership of finance delivery for a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact.

We are ideally looking for;

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing management accounts.
• Candidates from either accountancy practice or industry will be considered.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with different accounting systems.
• Commercially minded, client‑focused and confident communicating with senior stakeholders.
• Someone who enjoys variety and wants to broaden their experience across different businesses.
