Job summary

The CFO HQ in Wakefield is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to oversee the finance function and lead a small accounts team. You will ensure accurate monthly reports, strong controls and timely financial information for the Directors.

You will supervise VAT returns, year-end processes and system improvements, while partnering with senior management to drive budgeting, cashflow management and forecasting in a growing SME environment.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified or an experienced finance professional with strong relevant experience.
• Proven experience of managing or supervising an accounts/finance team.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across management accounts, reconciliations, month-end and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of VAT, year-end accounts and financial controls.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance function and oversee the accounts team.
• Provide leadership, guidance and development to the finance team.
• Own month-end close processes and deliver accurate monthly management accounts.
• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations and nominal ledger.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and financial controls across the business.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and regular reporting to Directors and senior management.
