Reporting to Directors, the role combines strategic financial leadership with day-to-day operations, including statutory compliance and collaboration with external advisers. On-site, permanent, with a company bonus and pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience leading a finance function in a senior role.
• Experience preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and year-end financials.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, payroll (PAYE), NI, pensions and statutory compliance.
• Experience managing or supervising a finance team.
• Experience collaborating with company directors and external advisers.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for financial compliance, reporting and statutory returns (tax, VAT, pensions).
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Produce monthly cash flow forecasts and monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Lead and develop the finance team and maintain robust processes and controls.
• Oversee weekly payroll and payroll compliance.
• Review utility contracts across all sites.
• Coordinate year-end processes and audits with external accountants.
• Provide financial insight to support sound commercial decisions.

Finance Manager

Trafford Park | £55,000-£60,000 | Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for a hands-on senior role where you can take ownership of the finance function and work closely with company directors?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run business operating across six sites in Trafford Park. The company is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead its finance function, oversee financial compliance and take responsibility for payroll across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys combining financial leadership with day-to-day operational involvement.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Directors and based at Head Office, you will take responsibility for the effective running of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls and full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

• Taking overall responsibility for financial compliance, reporting and statutory returns, including tax, VAT and pensions.
• Preparing and presenting accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Producing monthly cash flow forecasts and monitoring cash flow and working capital.
• Leading and developing the finance team, maintaining effective financial processes, controls and procedures.
• Taking responsibility for the accurate and timely production of weekly payroll.
• Managing payroll compliance, including PAYE, National Insurance and pension contributions.
• Reviewing and managing utility contracts across all company sites.
• Coordinating year-end processes and preparing for annual audits.
• Managing relationships with external accountants, auditors and professional advisers.
• Working closely with the Directors to provide financial insight and support sound commercial decision-making.

About You

We are looking for a confident and capable finance professional who can take ownership of the function and provide reliable financial information to support the wider business.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised finance qualification or be qualified by experience.
• Proven experience in a senior finance position, managing a finance function.
• Strong experience preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and year-end financial information.
• A sound understanding of financial controls, VAT, payroll, PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory compliance.
• Experience leading or supervising a finance team.
• Experience working with company directors and external financial advisers.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, organisational and people management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using Sage 50 Accounts.
