Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a North Manchester-based role. The position covers day-to-day finance operations, management accounts, budgeting support and robust financial controls in a busy environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in finance leadership, strong knowledge of AP/AR and SAGE, and excellent Excel skills. This is a full-time, office-based role with a salary in the £40k-£45k range plus bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Finance Manager or senior finance role.
• Qualified finance certification (CIMA/ACCA) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of management accounts, AP, AR and reconciliations.
• Experience with SAGE or similar accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel and ability to produce financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance function including AP/AR and invoicing.
• Manage bank reconciliations, supplier payments, and cashflow.
• Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts and P&L.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end and year-end processes.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors.

Finance Manager
Location: North Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience + bonus

Client Details

We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager to join a growing business in North Manchester.

This will be a broad and varied role, you'll play an important role in managing the day-to-day financial operations, producing accurate management accounts, supporting budgeting and reporting, and ensuring robust financial processes are maintained.

Description

The key responsibilities of a Finance Manager will be:

• Oversee the day-to-day finance function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and invoicing.

• Manage bank reconciliations, supplier payments, credit control and cash flow.

• Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts, P&L and financial reports.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end and year-end processes.

• Manage VAT returns and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, suppliers.

• Monitor expenditure, budgets and financial performance.

• Manage supplier accounts, contracts and renewals.

• Oversee financial systems and processes, including SAGE.

• Identify and implement process and system improvements.

• Ensure financial procedures and reporting deadlines are consistently met.

• Support with financial analysis, budgeting and business projects.

Profile

A successful Finance Manager will have:

• Previous experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior finance role.
• A recognised finance qualification or 5+ years' relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Management Accounts, AP, AR, reconciliations and credit control.
• Experience with SAGE or a similar accounting system.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence producing financial reports.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Professional, reliable and confident communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Offer
