Construction Finance Manager

Sutton

£55,000 - £65,000 Basic + Progression to director + growing business + bonus + annual leave + pension + social events + more

Work for an established and fast-growing construction company as a Finance Manager. Take full ownership of the finance function with the autonomy to shape the role around your strengths. You'll work closely with both the owner and office manager, overseeing all financial operations across the business. This position offers a clear pathway to becoming the Finance Director in the long term.

As Finance Manager, you will lead financial activities, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to business decisions. The role of the finance manager will involve:

1. Financial Oversight & Strategy: Lead daily financial operations, produce timely reports, and provide strategic insights for growth and planning.
2. Cash Flow & Budget Management: Develop cash flow forecasts and lead annual budgeting, monitoring performance and offering financial recommendations.
3. Project Costing & Analysis: Collaborate with project managers for financial oversight of projects, conducting cost analyses to enhance profitability.
4. Leadership & Team Development: Build and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
5. Compliance & Industry Expertise: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, work with external accountants, and leverage sector-specific experience (construction/electrical) with ERP/software proficiency.

The successful Finance Manager will need:

• AAT Qualification, chartered or working towards being a chartered accountant
• Experience in construction for a main contractor or subcontractor
• Full-time commuting to the office
