Job description

A Bit About Us

We’re Doccla, and we’re redefining where and how healthcare is delivered. Our Virtual Ward and Remote Monitoring Solutions enable hospitals and health systems to care for patients at home. We support patients across the full care journey from early discharge and acute recovery to long-term condition management and proactive care. We provide everything clinicians need to deliver safe, effective Virtual Care: medical-grade devices, logistics, patient onboarding, EHR integration, and an end-to-end clinical platform built around real-world workflows. We currently work with over 60% of NHS ICBs and supporting health systems across the including UK, Ireland, France, and the DACH region to reduce hospital pressure, improve outcomes, and create a more resilient model of care. We’re backed by top European investors, having secured £35m in Series B funding led by Lakestar, with participation from Elaia, General Catalyst, Speedinvest, and Bertelsmann.

Why Join Us?

This is your chance to join Doccla at a key stage in our growth. We’re building the category leader in Virtual Care and Remote Patient Monitoring. You’ll be part of a highly entrepreneurial, mission-driven team that combines expertise across clinical, technical, commercial, and operational domains. We’re solving real problems for patients and health systems and growing fast.

What You’ll Do As a Finance Manager

Finance here is levelling up. Our close is AI-assisted we recently cut it from 10 days to 3 and NetSuite sits at the core of a systems stack we are rebuilding for cleaner, faster data. You would be the first hire into a new team built for that next stage. This is a role for someone with a builder's mindset: you are not here to maintain the status quo, you are here to build what comes next. You do not need to arrive knowing our stack we will train you on NetSuite and our AI tooling; what you bring is the fundamentals and the ambition.

What You Will Own
  • AI-enabled finance. AI agents run in our close, reconciliation and reporting workflows today. You will run, improve and extend them curiosity matters more than prior experience.
  • Financial systems. Grow into hands-on NetSuite ownership: users, workflows, integrations. We will train you; you bring the appetite. Partner with IT to make our data cleaner and faster.
  • Month-end close. Run the entity-level close across our UK and European entities accruals, prepayments, payroll journals, intercompany feeding a swift, high-quality consolidated close. You own the checklist; your manager reviews.
  • Reconciliations and controls. In a traditional finance role, this would eat half your time. Here, AI and systems have made it incredibly efficient expect closer to 15%, covering reconciliations plus ownership of AR and AP: invoicing, collections and supplier payments. Still hands-on where it counts, but the real opportunity is the builder's mindset: keep optimising our AI flows to shrink this further, freeing you up for more impactful work.
  • Reporting. Monthly management accounts produced accurately and explained clearly, with analysis worked on alongside your manager numbers people can act on, not just read.
  • Audit support. Own audit deliverables and keep every close audit-ready: clean schedules, fast responses, credible numbers.
What Great Looks Like
  • 3 months: running our entity (2) closures end-to-end with review-only oversight; reconciliations current; NetSuite mapped.
  • 6 months: the operational core is running faster and better under you close cycle down, AI improvements shipped, audit prep self-sufficient.
  • 12 months: operating at FC level contributing to consolidation, trusted across the business, with the Financial Controller step a live conversation.
Must Have
What We’re Looking For
  • A builder's mindset: you instinctively automate, document and improve rather than repeat manual work.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI in finance AI agents are part of the toolkit here, and you will help make them better.
  • Newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or 5+ years of accounting experience including month-end close.
  • Strong double-entry fundamentals: you can build and defend a balance sheet reconciliation and explain every journal you post.
  • An understanding of audit expectations you know what an audit-ready month-end close looks like.
Nice to have:
  • Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite or comparable) helpful, not required; we will train you.
  • Multi-entity / multi-currency close experience (we operate in GBP and EUR).
  • Scale-up, health tech or healthcare services background.
