Job summary

Carrington Wood is seeking an Interim Finance Manager to join our rapidly expanding client in Falmouth. The role covers all transactional finance tasks, month-end duties, analysis and compliance, with a focus on strong controls and process improvements.

Working 40 hours per week with flexible start/finish times, the position offers immediate impact and the potential to convert to a longer-term role. Start date ASAP and remote/hybrid options are not indicated.

Qualifications

• Experience across all areas of transactional finance.
• Confidence supporting month-end routines and management accounts.
• Strong understanding of reconciliations, journals and financial controls.
• Self-starter comfortable working independently.
• Good communicator who can advise the wider business.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance function.
• Manage Accounts Payable – invoice processing, payments, supplier queries.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable – raise sales invoices, manage debtors.
• Handle payroll processes and liaise with payroll providers.
• Complete bank, credit card, and petty cash reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset register – additions, disposals, depreciation.
• Manage expenses, purchase orders, and supplier onboarding.
• Support cash-flow monitoring, forecasting inputs, and weekly reporting.
• Post journals including accruals, pre-payments and month-end adjustments.
• Assist with monthly management accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Provide financial analysis and support senior finance with ad-hoc reporting.
• Ensure strong financial controls, accuracy and process improvements.
• Support year-end preparations and auditor queries where required.

Hourly Rate: £TBC subject to experience
