Job summary

Witham Hall School is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day finances, including fee billing, payroll and pensions administration. This role works closely with the Bursar on budget monitoring and management accounts, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

The successful candidate will hold an accounting qualification (AAT/CIPP or equivalent) or demonstrate substantial relevant experience, with strong IT and Excel skills and a track record in account

Job description

The School is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of all aspects of the School's finances. Responsibilities will include fee billing, credit control, payroll, pensions administration, purchasing, banking and cash-flow management. The post holder will also work closely with the Bursar on budget monitoring and control, the preparation of management accounts, and liaising with the School's auditors during the production of the annual statutory accounts.

The successful candidate will hold an AAT, CIPP or equivalent accounting qualification, or be able to demonstrate substantial relevant experience. They will possess strong accounting knowledge and significant experience of working with accounting and payroll systems. The role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines, and proven experience of account reconciliations and payroll administration. A high level of IT proficiency is essential, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
