Job summary

Harcourt Matthews Ltd. is hiring a Finance Manager to lead financial reporting and commercial control for a strategic client. You will partner with operations and commercial leaders to shape finance support for contract profitability.

You will own budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash management, while developing robust controls and processes to drive performance and accuracy across Finance and client-facing teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional with ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, and at least two years’ post-qualification experience.
• Proven business partnering track record in a client-facing finance role, including team management.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor junior staff.
• Confident stakeholder communicator with the ability to present to varied audiences.
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience and macro skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own contract financial reporting with budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and commentary.
• Drive client budgets and billing, ensuring accurate reconciliations and timely invoices.
• Protect cash and margins by reducing debtor days and optimizing working capital.
• Apply commercial frameworks including uplifts, scope changes and rebids.
• Strengthen controls and month-end processes, maintaining local procedures and reducing rework.

A global facilities management specialist is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial reporting and commercial control for a key strategic client. The role offers business partnering exposure, close work with operational and commercial leaders, and scope to shape how finance supports contract profitability.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager

• Own contract financial reporting - Deliver budgets, rolling forecasts, variance bridges and commentary for client and internal stakeholders.
• Drive client budgets and billing - Agree client budgets and reconciliations, and ensure invoices are raised accurately and on time.
• Protect cash and margin - Keep contracts cash positive, minimising debtors and accrued income through weekly operational reviews.
• Apply commercial frameworks - Administer rates, annual uplifts, performance mechanisms and scope changes, and support rebids and extensions.
• Strengthen controls and processes - Uphold month-end and purchasing controls, maintain local procedures and remove manual rework.

Skills & Attributes of the Finance Manager

• Qualified finance professional - ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with at least two years’ post‑qualification experience.
• Business partnering track record - Significant experience in a similar client‑facing finance role, including managing a team.
• Team leadership and mentorship - Prior experience managing a team or acting as a senior member or mentor to more junior team members.
• Confident stakeholder communicator - Presents clearly to varied audiences and builds strong relationships with clients and operational teams.
• Advanced Excel and systems - Highly competent in Excel; ERP experience and macro skills are an advantage.
