Job summary

Resourcery Group Limited in Chester is seeking an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant to lead month end reporting, develop insightful analyses and drive value across the business. This is a highly visible role reporting to the Group Financial Controller.

You will own monthly board packs, manage a small team through journals and reconciliations, own the balance sheet, and ensure VAT and other tax submissions are completed promptly.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA with technical accounting training.
• Experience in month end close and financial reporting processes.
• Exposure to process improvement and control environments.

Responsibilities

• Own month end reporting and board packs with cash flow analyses.
• Oversee a small team handling journals, reconciliations and queries.
• Balance sheet ownership and VAT/tax submissions.
• Develop financial models to visualise real-time performance for commercial teams.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on pricing models and cost/risk insights.
• Be involved in budget setting and act as main point of contact for auditors.
• Take hands-on ownership of year-end statutory accounts.

An opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and acquisitive business based in Chester, in a highly visible role designed to oversee month end reporting and driving value add analysis across the business.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role is ideally suited to a technically trained (ACA/ACCA) Accountant either wanting to broaden their experience moving away from a pure financial reporting role or perhaps someone looking to gain more staff management responsibilities.

• Ownership of monthly board packs, comprising of detailed cash flows and analysis into ongoing business performance.
• Oversee a small team ensuring month end journals, reconciliations and queries are all promptly posted and closed.
• Balance sheet ownership
• Ensure all VAT and other tax related submissions are completed promptly.
• Develop existing financial models to enhance visualisation of real time performance to assist commercial teams
• Work with senior stakeholders to develop pricing models and ensure thorough understanding of implied costs and risks
• Heavily involved in budget setting and main POC for external auditors
• Hands on ownership of year end statutory account production

Candidate profile;

• Technically trained ACA/ACCA preferred
• Any exposure to staff management preferred
• Natural ability to investigate and improve processes and numbers
