Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day finance for a growing UK business within the Accounting & Finance department. You will ensure financial information is clear and reliable and manage key finance activity on time and accurately.

The role covers budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, cash flow, statutory filings, tax returns and liaising with auditors and advisers. Part-time 22 hours with a competitive salary and a performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant: CIMA, ACCA or ACA (ICAEW / ICAS)
• Advanced Excel
• Cloud accounting software
• Clear communicator, able to present financial information to non-finance colleagues
• Able to work autonomously as the sole finance professional in the UK, with sound judgement on when to escape
• Able to switch between strategic reporting and hands-on transactional work
• Practical, well-organised approach; able to manage competing deadlines
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to handle a growing volume of transactional work efficiently, and to improve processes

Responsibilities

• Prepare the annual FSA UK budget and forecasts, at least quarterly
• Prepare the monthly FSA UK management accounts, including actual results
• Variances against budget and forecast
• Variance analysis, with explanations and a summary of key areas of focus
• Guidance on future spending priorities
• Prepare cash flow forecasts to support operational and management decision-making
• Calculate, prepare and submit P11Ds to HMRC
• Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC
• Calculate and pay quarterly Corporation Tax instalments to HMRC
• Prepare the year-end profit and loss account and balance sheet
• Prepare the statutory accounts
• Prepare the annual Corporation Tax return
• Liaise with auditors and tax advisers prior to the submission of accounts
• Other Ad hoc tasks and day to day finance management
