Job summary

Chase and Holland is seeking a Finance Manager for a hands-on role in Rotherham. You will own day-to-day bookkeeping, management accounts, and detailed P&L analysis, while supporting cash flow forecasting and month‑end processes.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and wider team to provide accurate information for informed decision‑making. The ideal candidate will have SME finance management experience, strong accounting knowledge, and excellent IT skills, including Excel.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Finance Manager or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and financial controls.
• Proven ability to manage financial reporting for a SME.
• Proficient IT skills with Excel and financial systems.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy SME environment.
• Proactive approach and good communication with management.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping and journals.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and P&L analysis.
• Produce detailed cash-flow forecasts and monitoring.
• Support month‑end processes and reporting to MD and team.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supplier/customer data.
• Lead an accounts administrator and oversee reconciliations.

SME Environment, Hands-On Finance Role

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing SME client based in Rotherham, who are looking for a capable and commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of their day-to-day finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, likes variety, and wants to work closely with the Managing Director and wider business. You'll play a key role in keeping the finances running smoothly, providing accurate financial information and helping the business make informed decisions.

What will you be doing?

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and journals
• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Producing detailed P&L analysis and highlighting key trends
• Preparing cash-flow forecasts
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting
• Providing financial information and reports to the wider Management Team
• Integrating and maintaining financial data across internal system
• Processing invoices and maintaining accurate financial records
• Managing an accounts administrator
• Completing regular bank reconciliations
• Monitoring payments, receipts and bank deposits
• Managing credit control and debt collection

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar position
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and financial processes
• Strong Management and Financial Reporting experience
• IT literate including excel
• The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy SME environment
• A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to learn new systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
