An established industry player is seeking an Accountant/Finance Manager to join their in-house finance team in Altrincham. We are partnering a privately owned property investment company located in South Manchester with a very substantial and debt-free nationwide portfolio of commercial properties.
You will join a Family Office's in-house finance team where you will work closely with the Finance Director across a broad portfolio of work. You will enjoy being hands-on, carrying out all accounting operations for the property business which will include rental invoicing, accounts payable, credit control, bank reconciliations, quarterly VAT returns, month-end and year-end financial reporting.
You will work as part of a friendly team in an open plan office, with working hours 9-5pm with some flexibility where needed. This role will be on site in Altrincham, with parking available.
Duties will include:
Rent Invoicing and Credit Control:
Issue rent invoices and process bank receipts
Chase overdue debtor balances or escalate as required to ensure payment is received promptly
Ensure purchase invoices are approved and processed correctly
Electronic filing of all pdf documents within Xero
Bank Transactions and Reconciliation:
Prepare bank payments for director authorisation
Accurately reconcile all bank payments and receipts using the Xero bank feed on a weekly basis
Month End Reporting and Closing the Accounting Period:
Ensure all transactions have been posted for the accounting period and reconciliations are up to date
Issue monthly management accounts for director review
VAT Returns:
Prepare quarterly VAT submission for director approval
Year End Process and ad hoc matters
Provide information requested by the external Accountants during their preparation of the Year End financial statements and tax computations.
Liaising with external managing agents in respect of Service Charge matters
Maintain the master schedule for the portfolio and manage a Key Dates diary to give advance notice of key events such as rent reviews and lease renewals
