Job summary

AtkinsClarke is assisting a high-growth family-run e-commerce group in the East Midlands to recruit a Head of Finance. You will own financial planning, reporting and commercial insight across the group, reporting to the Managing Director.

You will lead a small finance team, work with non-finance leaders, and drive profitability and working capital optimisation as the business scales across channels. This hybrid role offers strategic influence and scope to shape the group’s financial trajectory.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with group consolidation experience.
• Proven background in financial control and management accounting.
• Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Strong management reporting, forecasting and modelling skills.
• Proven ability to drive cost control, working capital and commercial insight.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and consolidated P&L reporting across all group entities.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and long-range financial planning.
• Own gross margin and EBITDA reporting and continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory and stock-control processes with focus on working capital optimisation.
• Supplier spend analysis, purchasing leverage and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Cash-flow forecasting, working-capital management and liquidity planning.
• Support departmental budgets and drive financial accountability across operational leaders.
• Design and maintain management dashboards, KPIs and performance reporting.
• Drive financial modelling to support group growth, integration and strategic initiatives.
• Provide rigorous commercial challenge and insight to MD and senior leadership team.
• Develop the finance team as the business scales.
