Heidelberg Materials UK (formerly Hanson UK) invites applications for its Finance Graduate Programme in Chipping Sodbury. As a Finance Graduate you’ll support the Finance function while working towards ACCA or CIMA, gaining exposure to FP&A, RCC, Tax, and Internal Controls.

Over three years you’ll work across Finance, build commercial awareness, and develop technical accounting and leadership skills, with mentoring from senior finance professionals and real responsibility from day one.

Qualifications

• Graduated in 2026 or due to graduate in 2027.
• Predicted or achieved a minimum 2:1 degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics.
• Willingness to undertake ACCA or CIMA professional training.
• Previous accounting experience or knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills; SAP knowledge is beneficial.
• British citizenship or UK settled status.
• Full UK driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals and accruals in JDE and SAP; support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations; ensure month‑end postings are accurate.
• Investigate financial issues and identify solutions using sound judgement; support internal and external audit activities.
• Assist with variance analysis against budgets and forecasts; support performance reporting and planning.
• Contribute to monthly and group reporting requirements; assist with ad‑hoc financial projects.
• Support tax compliance, maintain internal controls, and promote process efficiency.
• Collaborate with operational and finance teams to provide business partnering support.
• Promote Health, Safety & Compliance within Finance; support Zero Harm initiatives.
