We’re looking for a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our LEGO Retail Finance team, based in London. The FP&A Finance Director is responsible for proactively partnering with senior leadership, providing insightful analysis, challenge, and influence to drive decisions and actions that improve the bottom line. This is a critical leadership role that enables the business to deliver the LEGO Retail Strategy and its financial objectives! Success in this role means enabling decision-making that enhances performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Annual Strategic & Financial Planning Processes: Plan these processes across LEGO Retail, including the preparation and presentation of various plans to senior leadership (including PLAN, Estimates, and Commercial Strategy). Challenge where necessary to ensure accountability of results across LRLT members and seek to optimize resource allocation between channels (stores and LEGO.com) and regions (Americas, EMEA, and China) to maximize sales and profit.
- Delivery of LEGO Retail Strategy: Work closely with the LRLT, the Markets and Channels (M&C) Finance team, and LEGO Retail Finance team to ensure that short-term plans align with the longer-term strategy. Lead the business in coordinating various functional plans by channel and region, and play a strategic role in prioritizing initiatives and resources.
- Business Service Organisation Acceleration: Lead partnership between LEGO Retail Finance and the Business Service Organization to deliver seamless integration, working across multiple transformation workstreams to optimize processes and improve ways of working.
- Performance Management: Monitor business performance versus plans, identify risks and opportunities, and track the progress of key programs and projects, advising on potential improvements.
- Productivity Drive: Track initiatives to deliver yearly cost-saving targets across all areas of LEGO Retail.
- Governance & Control: Identify control gaps and drive corrective actions to ensure processes and systems function effectively.
- Change Programmes in Finance: Build new processes to solve complex business problems, support profitable growth, and unlock business value, such as managing store workforce effectively.
- Finance Leadership: Play a key role within the LEGO Retail Finance leadership team.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 6 members covering FP&A, overhead management, and Internal Controls.

LEGO Retail is a global market group covering Direct-to-Consumer channels, including 200 retail stores across the Americas, Europe, and China, and LEGO.com in 35 countries. It is one of the fastest-growing and most profitable channels of The LEGO Group, supported by a Retail Finance team of approximately 20 colleagues across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Requirements
- Experience in strategy development, business planning, performance indicators, and results reporting.
- Proven experience in FP&A, Financial Controls, and governance processes.
- Creatively solving business problems, establishing frameworks, and leading successful change programs in finance.
- Effective communication with senior decision-makers and managing commercial relationships.
- Skilled in developing and teaching robust business and financial models for forecasting and tracking strategic priorities.
- Attention to detail with the ability to operate strategically.
- Experience managing a team and fostering an environment of excellence.
- Experience in the Retail sector is advantageous.
