Job summary

ACCA Careers in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function in a growing, investor-backed business. You will partner with the MD to drive performance, provide commercial insight and support the next phase of growth.

The role requires qualified accounting credentials and a proven track record in stock-intensive environments, with a hands-on, pragmatic leadership style. A broad remit includes budgeting, cash flow, controls, and acquisition support.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent) with strong professional ethics.
• Proven finance leadership experience in a commercial, stock-intensive environment.
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and driving performance.
• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function with accurate and timely reporting.
• Provide commercial insight and analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Deliver robust budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Improve financial controls, reporting, and management information.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive performance.
• Lead finance systems and process improvements.
• Oversee inventory, margins and working capital.
• Support growth projects including potential acquisitions.
• Act as adviser to senior stakeholders and leadership team.
