Job summary

The Stoll Foundation is a leading provider of supported housing for vulnerable and disabled veterans in the UK. The Finance Director role is a fixed-term position (to end 31st March 2027) based at Fulham with hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Provide experienced financial leadership and organisational resilience during a period of organisational transition.
• Ensure the continued integrity of the finance function and strengthen financial management and planning.
• Support implementation of key systems and controls and establish foundations for the organisation’s next phase of strategic development.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Finance, HR, Audit and Risk Committee (FHRAR) and the Board to ensure financial robustness, compliance and governance.

Location: Fulham base site – Hybrid working arrangements available in accordance with organisational policy.

Contract: Fixed-term contract to end 31st March 2027

Job type: Full-time [Monday to Friday – 9 am to 5 pm]

Direct Reports: Finance Team, Finance Systems, IT Function, External Audit Relationship, Internal Audit Relationship and Financial Planning and Reporting

Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per year, plus benefits

The Role:

The Finance Director will provide experienced financial leadership and organisational resilience during a period of organisational transition.

The role will ensure the continued integrity of the finance function, strengthen financial management and planning, support implementation of key systems and controls, and help establish the foundations required for the organisation’s next phase of strategic development.

The postholder will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Finance, HR, Audit and Risk Committee (FHRAR) and Board to ensure that The Stoll Foundation remains financially robust, compliant and well governed.

As a registered charity and Registered Provider of Social Housing, the organisation operates within a highly regulated environment. The Interim Finance Director will play a key leadership role in ensuring financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, effective assurance and long‑term financial sustainability in support of the organisation’s social purpose and responsibilities to residents, veterans and stakeholders.

The postholder will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to, the needs of veterans of the UK Armed Forces and the charitable objects and values of The Stoll Foundation.
