Job summary

Rutherford Briant Recruitment is seeking a Finance Director for a well‑established business on the outskirts of Colchester. You will own the financial strategy, lead budgeting and forecasting, and provide strategic financial leadership to the Board and senior management as the group enters a new growth phase.

Responsibilities include partnering with operations to improve financial and operational efficiency, developing robust MI and governance, and leading a high‑performing finance function.

Are you a highly experienced Finance Director who has a proven track record in working closely with senior leadership teams in owner managed businesses?
A well established business based on the outskirts of Colchester are looking for Finance Director to help take ownership of financial strategy as they enter their next growth phase.
As Finance Director you will:

• Own and shape the Group's financial strategy, aligning financial planning, investment and performance with the owners' long-term growth objectives.
• Provide commercial financial leadership to the Board and senior management team, delivering insight, challenge and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and financial modelling, providing clear visibility of performance, funding requirements and future opportunities.
• Drive profitability and commercial performance across the Group, challenging costs, pricing, margins, productivity and working capital while identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Partner with operations, production, procurement and sales to improve financial and operational efficiency, including cost control and investment decisions.
• Develop and enhance management information, systems, controls and processes, ensuring accurate, timely reporting, strong governance and effective risk management across the Group.
• Lead and develop the finance function, acting as a trusted adviser to the owners and wider leadership team while providing financial oversight across the Group's diverse business interests.
