Job summary

Principal Medical Limited is seeking a full-time permanent Finance Director to join the team on site, with occasional visits to PML sites.

You will be responsible for robust financial planning, reporting, IG compliance, and strategic leadership to support growth and profitability. The role requires ACA or equivalent and senior leadership experience in a complex organisation, preferred in healthcare. You will lead budgeting, governance, and the financial strategy across the organisation.

• Experience in senior financial leadership within a complex organisation.
• Healthcare sector experience desirable.
• Board or SLT level senior leadership experience essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Principal Medical Limited are looking for a full-time permanent Finance Director to join the team.

This role will be based on site and will be required to visit PML sites.

Role Purpose

The overall financial stewardship, governance, and performance of the business, ensuring robust

financial planning, reporting, risk management, and regulatory compliance in both Finance and

Information Governance (IG).

A key member of the executive team, providing strategic financial and IG leadership to support

commercial development, sustainable growth, profitability, and effective cash flow management. And

ensuring the timely delivery of accurate financial and IG insights and analysis, enabling leaders across

the organisation to make informed, evidence-based decisions.

Role Accountabilities

Strategic Financial and IG Leadership

• Member of the Executive Team on the Board
• Develop and deliver the financial strategy, ensuring it supports the organisation’s overall business objectives, growth plans and long-term sustainability.
• People management of the finance and IG teams supporting their development and ensuring strong performance in all areas of the departments

Financial and IG Performance & Reporting

• Overall responsibility for the finance and IG function operations, including production of timely management accounts, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis to support decision making.
• Cash Flow, Funding & Financial and IG Control
• Safeguard the organisation’s financial and IG health through effective cash flow management, effective cross organisational IG training, working capital optimisation, robust financial and IG controls and appropriate funding arrangements.

Risk Management, Governance & Compliance

• Maintain effective financial governance, regulatory compliance and risk management frameworks ensuring adherence to statutory, tax and audit requirements.
• Lead on company secretarial responsibilities including company insurances and advice on related legal matters.
• Commercial Leadership & Business Planning
• Produce creative financial models to facilitate commercial development and business improvement.
• Working with the Director of People and Culture, provide financial and IG analysis to inform HR policy in relation to vacancies, remuneration, data protection, salary banding and progression, and other performance related reward systems.
