Job summary

The Guardian is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract or staff secondment. You will support data-driven decision making with high-quality analysis, using SQL and visualization tools to deliver insights that shape the business.

Based in London with a hybrid working pattern (at least 3 days in Kings Cross offices), the role offers opportunities to grow analytical skills and contribute to cross-team projects while upholding data privacy and governance

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with SQL and large datasets in professional or academic settings.
• Experience delivering analysis to support decision-making.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
• Understanding of applying data to business or editorial objectives.
• Ability to analyse unstructured data and attention to forensic details.
• Experience with data mapping, data migration or data testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to high-quality, stakeholder-relevant analysis.
• Maintain high standards of analytical rigour and improve insight communication.
• Develop strong relationships with peers and stakeholders across functions.
• Use SQL and visualization tools to uncover patterns and generate insights.
