Job summary

Morgan Ryder Associates is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead finance across two UK sites for a growing defence manufacturing group. Based initially in Burgess Hill or Worksop, you’ll partner with the MD and SLT to strengthen financial control and strategic insight.

The role covers month-end close, IFRS, product costing, inventory, cash flow and ERP improvements, with a strong emphasis on commercially informed decision making and team leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial control and forecasting.
• Experience in manufacturing costing and inventory management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Ability to partner with senior leadership and drive commercial insight.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and annual close, reporting and IFRS compliance.
• Statutory accounts, VAT and external audit.
• Financial controls, processes and reporting improvements.
• Manufacturing costs, product costing, margins and profitability.
• Stock accounting, inventory and working capital.
• Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow.
• Commercial analysis and business partnering with senior leadership.
• Leadership and development of finance teams.
• ERP and finance systems/process improvements.
• Liaison with external advisers and international group finance.
