Job summary

RK Accountancy in Stockport is seeking a Financial Controller to lead a small finance team and ensure accurate, timely reporting and strong governance. You will drive the close process, board packs, and compliance, while supporting growth through automation and AI-enabled finance initiatives.

You will collaborate with the Finance Director and external advisers, oversee treasury and tax, and deliver high-quality management information for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
• Significant experience in Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounts process and ensure timely completion.
• Produce board reporting packs and supporting analysis.
• Maintain robust month-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee VAT, Corporation Tax, and employment tax compliance.
• Manage external audit and statutory accounts preparation.
• Drive cash flow forecasting and treasury operations.
• Lead Payables, Receivables and Credit Control functions.
