Job summary

Levy Merchandising is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller in Manchester to join our growing business. You will own the month-end close, budgeting, cash flow and VAT/GST compliance while partnering with senior leaders to drive profitable growth across B2C and B2B channels.

You’ll lead core accounting processes, manage working capital and contribute to strategic projects, including inventory costing and cross-border trading requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW and prior FC or senior accounting experience.
• Experience in a smaller or growing finance team with broad ownership.
• Experience in e-commerce with international reach is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of EU VAT regulations and sales tax compliance.
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable insight.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, journals, reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning with senior leadership.
• Provide commercially focused insight and recommendations.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital and statutory reporting.
• Oversee VAT, sales tax and audit activities, including EU VAT.
• Own inventory costing and stock-related controls.
• Partner with commercial teams and support new opportunities with financial modelling.
• Develop scalable finance processes and lead ad-hoc strategic projects.
• Lead and coach direct reports to meet objectives.
