Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a proactive Management Accountant/Finance Business Partner for a not-for-profit organisation in Liverpool. You will lead monthly management accounts, perform variance analysis, and provide financial insight to senior leaders to shape strategy.

You will partner with budget holders, develop forecasts, deliver financial modelling, and drive cost efficiencies through process improvements and KPI dashboards, with a strong emphasis on controls and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA with experience.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to influence.
• Experience in management accounting, business partnering or FP&A.
• Excellent communication to challenge senior leaders.
• Advanced Excel and familiarity with reporting tools.
• Proactive and adaptable with solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to operational teams, providing financial insight and challenge to support decision-making.
• Lead monthly management accounts preparation, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Partner with budget holders to develop forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Deliver financial modelling and scenario planning to support business cases and investment decisions.
• Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements across departments.
• Support the development of KPIs and performance dashboards to enhance financial visibility.
• Collaborate with wider finance and non-finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Contribute to year-end processes and liaise with auditors as required.
