Job summary

The Portfolio Group is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support an energy substation and renewables portfolio in the Yorkshire region. The role involves partnering with operations, commercial and project teams to deliver strong financial performance through sound analysis and robust governance.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews, identify risks and opportunities, and drive profitability and working capital improvements across multiple contracts.

Qualifications

• Recently qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in business partnering, operational finance, project finance, or commercial finance.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to turn data into insight.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Proactive growth mindset and willingness to learn and improve.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit project sites regularly.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Support monthly performance reviews with clear financial analysis.
• Identify risks, opportunities and performance trends across projects.
• Drive profitability, cost control and working capital improvements.
• Provide financial challenge and support to operations and commercial teams.
• Ensure robust governance, reporting accuracy and adherence to controls.
• Contribute to strategic decisions with high-quality financial insight.
