Job summary

The Portfolio Group is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support an energy substation and renewables portfolio in the Yorkshire region. The role involves partnering with operations, commercial and project teams to deliver strong financial performance through sound analysis and robust governance.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews, identify risks and opportunities, and drive profitability and working capital improvements across multiple contracts.

Qualifications

• Recently qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in business partnering, operational finance, project finance, or commercial finance.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to turn data into insight.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Proactive growth mindset and willingness to learn and improve.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit project sites regularly.

We are recruiting on behalf of a major infrastructure business for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join their Energy Substation & Renewable Connections Division on a fixed-term basis through to December 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with operational teams, influencing decision-making, and helping deliver strong commercial and financial performance across a growing portfolio of energy infrastructure projects.

The Role

Working as part of a high-performing finance team, you'll partner with operational, commercial, and project stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight, challenge, and support. Your focus will be on helping the business make informed decisions, improve profitability, and maintain strong financial control across a range of contracts and projects.

Key responsibilities will include:
