Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group partners exclusively with a pioneering technology organisation to appoint a Finance Business Partner within its expanding commercial finance team in the UK.

You will own the P&L, lead budgeting and forecasting, and provide strategic financial insight to support high-value services and contracts. The role combines commercial focus with robust governance in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with proven experience supporting long-term contracts or programmes.
• Experience as a finance business partner in a complex environment; defence or maritime exposure is advantageous.
• Excellent communicator who can partner with and challenge C-suite stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract financial performance by owning the P&L and delivering timely reporting to inform operational decisions.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management with forward visibility to targets.
• Support business cases and commercial changes by contributing to investment decisions and contract negotiations.
• Ensure governance and compliant reporting through robust controls and disciplined information flow.

As Finance Business Partner, you will provide financial leadership, commercial insight, and strategic challenge across high-value services and contracts, ensuring that programme performance is understood, governed, and optimised.

What will the Finance Business Partner role involve?

• Lead contract financial performance by owning the P&L and delivering accurate and timely reporting and translate financial data into insight that supports operational decision-making and strengthens commercial outcomes
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, contractual performance with strong forward visibility and alignment to targets
• Support business cases and commercial changes by contributing to investment decisions, rebids, extensions, and contract negotiations
• Ensure governance, compliance, and secure reporting through robust financial controls, adherence to reporting standards, and disciplined information flow

Suitable Candidate for the Head of Finance vacancy:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven experience supporting long-term contracts or programmes
• Demonstrable experience as a finance business partner in a complex environment. Defence or Maritime industry experience is advantageous
• Excellent communicator with the confidence to partner with and challenge C-suite stakeholders
