Job summary

MacGregor Black is recruiting a Manufacturing Finance Manager for a leading UK FMCG business. The role covers manufacturing finance, cost control and senior business partnering to influence operational and strategic decisions.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting and financial controls for a key UK operation, with European exposure. The ideal candidate is a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with manufacturing/FMCG experience, capable of product costing, cost reduction and business

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with manufacturing/FMCG experience.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting capabilities.
• Proven ability to model financial scenarios and build business cases.
• Willingness to travel UK/Europe as required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of financial performance for a UK manufacturing operation.

• Analyse factory costs, production performance, inventory and margins.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide financial input into product costing, new products and commercial decisions.

• Support CAPEX investment cases and operational improvement projects.
• Occasional travel across the UK and Europe.

I’m pleased to be working with a leading FMCG business that is looking to appoint a Manufacturing Finance Manager to support its UK manufacturing operation and wider European Operations team.

This is a broad, commercially focused role combining manufacturing finance, cost control and senior business partnering, with the opportunity to influence both operational and strategic decision-making.

The role will involve:

• Taking ownership of financial performance across a key UK manufacturing operation
• Leading budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting and financial controls
• Analysing factory costs, production performance, inventory and margins
• Partnering with Operations and Supply Chain to identify cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities
• Providing financial input into product costing, new products and commercial decisions
• Supporting supply chain finance, pricing and inventory management
• Providing financial insight and reporting to senior European Operations stakeholders
• Supporting CAPEX investment cases, business planning and operational improvement projects
• Occasional travel across the UK and Europe

About you:

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience within manufacturing, FMCG, plant or operational finance.

You’ll ideally have experience across:

• Manufacturing / factory finance
• Product costing and inventory
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Operational performance analysis
• Business partnering with senior Operations stakeholders
• Cost reduction and continuous improvement
• Financial modelling and business cases

This would suit someone currently working as a Plant Finance Manager, Manufacturing Finance Manager, Operations Finance Manager, Plant Controller or Senior Finance Business Partner who is looking for a broader role with European exposure.

Please note: this position requires a minimum of 4 days per week onsite in Dartford.
