The Role

As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll support our Mission Systems – Space business unit, including contracts where Babcock manages critical satellite infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities will include providing financial support, working closely with Operations to improve processes, and assisting with reporting to enable informed decisions. You will also support tendering and organic growth initiatives.

• Provide meaningful and accurate financial information to aid understanding of performance and identify issues.
• Build strong relationships with business leads, managers, and bidding teams, providing monthly analysis and reports, and conducting reviews.
• Produce accurate forecasts, budgets, and supporting analysis on time.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and quality.
• Review projects to ensure trading margins are accurate and IFRS15 standards are met.

This position involves travel across internal and customer sites. It is a full-time role, with a hybrid working pattern of three days in the office and two days remote, based in Bristol, with weekly travel to sites in the South-West.

Essential Experience

• Project Accountant experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to analyze data and communicate financial insights clearly.
• Proactive planning and project management skills.
• Flexibility to work extended hours to meet deadlines.
• Strong collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Working towards or holding ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is desirable.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance, starting with Standard (BPSS) clearance and progressing to SC.
