The Emergency Services Network (ESN) is a strategic priority for BT, committed to providing mission-critical and trusted communications for Britain’s Emergency Services. ESN will be one of the most advanced Emergency Services Networks globally, replacing the Airwave network and building on EE’s existing 4G infrastructure to deliver essential voice, data, and critical communication services to 300,000 frontline emergency personnel.


As ESN Financial Business Partner, you will support the delivery of this infrastructure and program daily, partnering with the program team to meet financial plans. Key stakeholders include sub-programmes (Delivery, Service, and Commercial teams) and the Home Office.


The successful candidate must be cleared to BPSS (or equivalent) at a minimum, with potential requirement for National Security Vetting (e.g., CTC, SC, or NPPV).

What you’ll be doing
  • Partner with sub-programmes to provide financial insights for strategic decision-making, managing end-to-end financials, and building stakeholder relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead end-to-end financial planning and reporting for the sub-programme, providing insights to inform decision-making and performance management.
  • Challenge and support the programme to deliver within budget constraints.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing, including query and dispute resolution when necessary.
