Role Overview: Having recently secured a large defence contract, our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Controller. This role offers hybrid working, enabling you to balance office and remote work effectively. As a Finance Business Controller, you will oversee financial planning, analyze financial data, and support decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial planning and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Act as a business partner for Project and Line Managers by coordinating monthly financial project reviews.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure budget alignment.
• Assess project revenue based on Percentage of Cost (POC) and Time & Materials (T&M) principles.
• Reconcile monthly project work-in-progress.
• Monitor, report, and advise on project and contract status reviews.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management at local and group levels.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
• Support operational managers in contract bid proposals, billing, and cost rate preparations.
• Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in financial management and controlling.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of SAP, particularly SAP S4/Hana, is a bonus.
