Finance Business Analyst - Hybrid Working
Our client, a global Insurance company, is currently looking to hire a Business Analyst with a strong finance systems background to join the team on a hybrid working contract basis, based at the client site in London.
This role operates within the Finance Change Team and is crucial to the redevelopment of the OneStream Architecture, leveraging the capabilities of the OneStream MI solution. Responsibilities include facilitating and writing requirements, acceptance criteria, and validating solution implementation. The project adopts a hybrid agile delivery model managed by a third party, and the role will manage the product backlog and facilitate UAT and Business Acceptance testing phases.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Facilitate and write requirements and acceptance criteria for Epics and Stories
- Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are approved by stakeholders
- Review proposed solution designs to meet requirements and acceptance criteria and ensure their acceptance
- Support the formulation and acceptance of key design decisions
- Validate implementation across sprint reviews and testing phases, providing feedback and raising bugs, and facilitating the capture of test cases and evidence
- Facilitate Data Reconciliation processes
- Support and facilitate product backlog review, prioritisation, and sizing sessions with the business and implementation team
- Manage and refine the product backlog to reflect current priorities and sizing
- Support and facilitate the formulation of Change Requests (CRs), providing impact assessments, cost-benefit analysis, and recommendations
- Conduct and facilitate defect triage to ensure bugs and feedback are correctly identified and prioritized for resolution
Knowledge and Experience
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Good understanding of project governance and lifecycle
- Solid analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to review, challenge, and influence solutions and processes
- Good numerical skills, confident using IT platforms to solve finance problems, and conversant in finance language from detail to C-suite level
- Experience with financial reporting requirements, including statutory reporting, management reporting, or financial planning
- Ability to operate independently, manage time effectively, and work remotely
- Ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships across the organization
- Experience working collaboratively with third-party consultants to deliver effective OneStream Financial Models
- Team player with good personal skills, applying pragmatism and diplomacy as needed
- Proficiency in requirements, Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria specification
- Experience managing agile product backlogs in Scrum
- Knowledge of process and requirements modeling
- Data modeling of financial data and CUBE/Star Schema
- Data analysis and reconciliation skills
- Experience with defect triage, bug prioritization, and severity assessment
- Experience with financial modeling and statutory reporting platforms
Additional Requirements
- 7+ years of direct experience with finance software implementations and delivering finance MI requirements
- Understanding of accounting principles and EPM solutions
- 5+ years of experience working in a global business environment
- 5+ years of experience working in Agile Scrum as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
- Experience with OneStream is beneficial
- Experience in extracting and analyzing data from financial systems
- Proven experience in agile delivery methodologies
