Here at Entrust, we have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Finance Assistant to join our fast-paced and friendly team as a School Finance Assistant. You will work closely with schools and multi-academy trusts across the Barnet area to provide varied financial support, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently.

Working onsite within these schools, you will support the provision of professional accountancy and financial services by carrying out bookkeeping and related duties. Being onsite allows you to develop networks and address queries promptly, providing invaluable support and guidance when needed most.

This role is varied, involving visits to different schools and requiring excellent interpersonal skills.

This is a part-time role, working 24 hours per week with some flexibility in scheduling. It is term-time only, totaling 39 weeks per year.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

1. Input monthly business financial reporting, including analysis and insights on deviations from plans and action plans to meet forecasts/budgets.
2. Analyze information to provide insights into the business.
3. Contribute to bids as required.
4. Execute financial controls aligned with group policies and standards (including IFRS 15, IFRS 16).
5. Provide value-added analysis on issues affecting the business and manage forecasts for Business Units.
6. Prepare financial reporting data.
7. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of P&L, balance sheet, and working capital requirements.

What we’re looking for:

1. A proven track record of working within finance (preferably in a school setting, though not essential).
2. Experience handling budgets, finance reports, paying invoices, completing payment runs, and raising purchase orders.
3. Based in the Barnet area with access to own transport.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. A proactive approach to self-development.
