Role Description

Manage, control, and maintain the distribution costing system to ensure accurate costings in tenders, budgets, forecasts, and actual reporting. Assist the Supply Chain Analysis Manager & Logistics Analyst with month-end accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations. Implement and update the DC system for new routes, product streams, and contracts, covering UK and European markets. Develop costing methods to analyze customer profitability more accurately.

Principal Responsibilities

• Post month-end journals and prepayments.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly.
• Manage and review accruals for accuracy, including tenders, payments, budgets, forecasting, and scenario planning.
• Chair meetings and oversee implementations of new cost allocation methods.
• Autonomously implement new complexities and routes, ensuring internal controls and minimizing purchase orders.
• Reconcile accruals with SAP system against invoices, challenge variances.
• Manage interfaces with IT logistics regarding system changes.
• Maintain documentation for system changes for audits.
• Create new vendors for logistics payments following controls.
• Raise invoices for supply chain claims.

Role Requirements

• Studying for or qualified in AAT or similar.
• Proficient in Excel and SAP.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good understanding of supply chain principles, warehousing, distribution, forecasting, and stock control.
• Knowledge of retail customer and Princes supply chains.
• Understanding of accounting concepts and secondary distribution costs affecting customer profitability.
