Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Finance Assistant for Social Care – Non-residential Payments in Chelmsford. This fixed-term, full-time role supports the Purchase to Pay and Income teams to process financial transactions accurately and in line with policy.

Salary is £25,959 per annum, with a contract length of up to 12 months and closing date 28 October 2026. You will contribute to data entry, basic reporting and customer service across P2P and Income, with experience in accounts

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
• Experience with P2P/Income processes desirable.
• Ability to interpret data and maintain records.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage financial transactions following defined processes.
• Input and interpret data ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide customer support in line with Financial policies.
• Produce basic reports for P2P and Income.
