Job summary

Alexander Daniels are recruiting a Finance Assistant to join the growing finance team. Working with an experienced Finance Manager, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting tasks and develop into a more rounded accountant.

We seek someone with strong hands-on transactional finance experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations, typically 2–3 years in finance, and a proactive approach to learning and development.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on transactional finance experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Around 2-3 years of finance experience with ambition to progress into broader accounting.
• Excellent Excel skills and a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Studying towards or interested in pursuing a professional qualification such as AAT, ACCA, or CIMA.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase invoice processing and supplier payments to time.
• Raise sales invoices, monitor receivables and support credit control.
• Complete bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Carry out balance sheet reconciliations for assets, accruals and prepayments.
• Support monthly KPI reporting and cash flow forecasts.
• Assist with monthly management accounts preparations.
• Support statutory accounts preparation per IFRS/FRS 102.
• Liaise with auditors and contribute to process improvements.
• Participate in department-wide projects and business partnering.
