Temporary Finance Assistant (Credit Control)

Full time - 37 hours per week (3-month contract)

The Harpur Trust is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant (Credit Control) to join our Finance team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a respected educational charity that is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

About the Role:

As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing school fee accounts across four schools, ensuring timely payments and maintaining accurate financial records. You will play a key role in communicating with account holders, resolving payment issues, and supporting the Billing Manager with escalated cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily review and monitoring of school fee arrears reports
  • Communicating with account holders to resolve overdue payments
  • Using and maintaining communication templates in line with policy
  • Recording and following up on returned direct debits

About You:

·Extensive experience in a credit control environment

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

·Ability to work independently and as part of a team
