Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing business in Hastings for a 12-month maternity cover. You will support financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and analysis, reporting to the Financial Controller, ensuring accuracy and strong financial controls.

Key duties include managing receivables/payables, bank reconciliations, budgeting support and month-end reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance or accounting environment.
• Experience across a broad range of finance functions.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
• AAT/ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualification advantageous, though candidates qualified by experience will be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage receivables and payables control accounts.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset register and perform ledger reconciliations.
• Process and review invoices with appropriate authorisation.
• Support annual budgeting and financial planning.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts, inventory reports and sales analysis.
• Assist with month-end reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Support cost analysis and pricing against budget.
