Qualifications

  • Graduate or A-level educated with relevant attributes; accounting qualification preferred.
  • Experience in accounts and payroll is desirable but not essential.

  • Reporting to: Finance Manager
  • Hours: Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week, office-based

Objective

To work as a member of the finance team and to provide assistance to the Finance Director and Team.

Duties
Finance
  • Assist in maintenance of Purchase and Sales Ledger records
  • Assist with invoice entry to Purchase Ledger, including staff expenses
  • Assist with setting up payments and entering them into Purchase Ledger
  • Process bank transactions daily and assist with weekly bank reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing and distributing Company Sales invoicing
  • Credit Card entries and reconciliations
  • Liaise with other Departments as applicable
  • Support ad-hoc projects
Payroll
  • Assist with processing Guarding Payroll
  • Resolve payroll enquiries from employees, Government Agencies, and HR
  • Post payslips on intranet portal
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and HMRC reporting
  • Assist with pension reporting
  • Build strong relations with all departments
Administration
  • Maintain financial filing system
  • Correspond with agencies, employees, customers, and suppliers
  • Support admin/projects such as maintaining databases and developing finance practices
  • Perform other duties professionally as assigned
Person Specification

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Graduate or A-level educated with relevant attributes; accounting qualification, AAT, or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in accounts
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 is a plus
  • Payroll experience is desirable but not essential

Aptitudes and Attitudes:

  • Good literacy, communication skills, and proficiency in English
  • Good telephone manner
  • Computer literate
