Finance Assistant

Position: Finance Assistant - Compliance & Transaction Team
Location: Sheffield Business Park, S9 1HX. - minimum 3 days per week in the office.
Contract type: 40 hours per week
Rate: 27,000 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company as our new Finance Assistant in South Yorkshire.

In this role, you’ll support the central finance team with the day-to-day running of the finance function.

About the role

As a Finance Assistant, you will work closely with two other Finance Assistants and the Assistant Accountant on daily tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Monitoring and posting personnel expenses and company credit cards
  2. Posting journals including accruals and prepayments
  3. Preparing month-end reconciliations
  4. Processing payments on the bank for approval
  5. Maintaining accurate cash flow information
  6. Completing bank reconciliations
  7. Providing accurate financial reports to internal stakeholders weekly and monthly
  8. Ensuring CAPEX spend approval process compliance
  9. Carrying out ad-hoc finance team tasks
  10. Undertaking training to ensure statutory compliance and professional registration, including child and adult protection procedures
  11. Participating in appraisals and supervision within statutory guidelines
