Finance Assistant - Penzance / Hybrid - £21,500 - £26,000

Trial Balance Consulting is delighted to be exclusively engaged by a well-established and highly reputable hospitality services organisation seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to support their Finance Manager (also introduced by Trial Balance Consulting). This is a permanent contract that can be operated as either a full-time (5 days p/w) or part-time (4 days p/w) basis. The organisation offers the potential for hybrid remote working to suit both sides.

This will be a broad and interesting role where the successful candidate will closely support an experienced Finance Manager, managing the financial health of a bustling organisation that operates across multiple sites in west Cornwall. The role focuses on carrying out bookkeeping for the organisation, as well as heading up a number of transactional procedures. Key responsibilities include:

1. Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring accurate financial information and producing management accounts and associated reports
2. Management of the accounts payable function, including liaison with key suppliers and producing payment runs
3. Bank reconciliations
4. Cash handling and banking
5. Collating payroll data for external bureau
6. Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, budgets, and VAT reports

For this role, our client is more focused on sound vocational experience than formal qualifications, so applications are welcome from part/fully AAT qualified candidates and those who consider themselves to be QBE. The role would be particularly well suited to a bookkeeper with end-to-end experience, ideally gained within a small services business or not-for-profit environment. Good all-round IT experience is essential, particularly in MS Excel and ideally using Sage cloud-based systems. The role works as part of a passionate and energetic head office team with a strong desire to see the organisation thrive; great communication and team-working skills are essential.
