Job description

The Music Royalty Company (MRC) supports independent record labels, distributors, publishers, and recording artists by providing royalty processing, financial, and administrative services.

We’re passionate about changing the way music accounting is done by providing a tailored service to the music industry. We’re here to let creative people be creative and focus less time on pesky financial matters.

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support our financial day-to-day transactions. If you are enthusiastic, self-motivated and have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, then we’d like to meet you!

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this will be a varied role requiring a high level of attention to detail and a strong customer service ethic.

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Accurate & Timely processing of sales statements
  • Working closely with the Royalties team to ensure accuracy of royalty reporting
  • Posting of costs according to specific artist deals
  • Posting bank feeds and reconciling bank statements
  • Processing supplier invoices and expense claims
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Aged debtor and creditor reviews
  • Dealing with Client queries
  • Assisting with VAT returns
  • Support other employees throughout any accounting processes
You
  • 1-2 Years Experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
  • Able to work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines, with an ability to spot numerical errors
  • Hard working, inquisitive, and eager to learn, with a positive can-do attitude
  • Friendly and respectful
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication with staff and clients, both written and verbal
  • Well-organised, methodical and efficient
  • Can use Excel to Intermediate level, and confident with use of VLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
  • Having previous experience using QuickBooks or other accounting software
  • Happy working from home

Job Title: Finance Assistant
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000, dependent on experience
Hours: Mon – Fri 9.30am – 6.00pm
