Location: London Based (Victoria - minimum of 3 days per week office based)

At easyHotel we are inventing a new breed of affordable and low-carbon hotels. Our mission is to enable more people to travel differently, by offering low-cost, low-carbon hotels for everyone; hotels that are simple to book, simple to use and city-focused; hotels that are designed for both those travelling on a budget and those who prefer to save money on their hotel to indulge in the best of the city.

We are present in 11 countries with 49 sites, but our goal is to increase our presence in Europe, especially in Germany, France and Spain.

We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join the team at our London Support Office, located in Victoria, two minutes from the station.

This role will report directly to the Regional Financial Controller for France and Belgium (who is currently based in the Paris Office). You will be predominately responsible for Bank reconciliations, Balance sheet reconciliations, and cash collections across Europe. However, there is plenty of scope to get involved in analysis and ad hoc project work.

Your reporting line will be into Paris, but you will collaborate closely with the 15 strong London based finance team at our main Support Office.

Our ideal candidate will be a hands-on and resourceful, confident liaising with a range of stakeholders and comfortable with shifting priorities. You will be able to prioritise, problem solve and have great time management. You may be studying towards a professional Accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience.

Fluency in Spanish, Dutch and/or French would be a significant advantage.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Ownership of the banks across the European group, performing bank reconciliations weekly.
• Business partner with Hotel Managers to ensure cash collection accuracy and consistency.
• Preparing and managing production of Sales invoices.
• Reviewing Capital expenditure with Construction team on hotel projects.
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations for wide range of accounts
• Support on the audits of French, Spanish and Dutch entities
• Own month end processes including the posting of the depreciation journals, IFRS 16 journal, revenue cash journal
• Assist with preparation of non-audited financial statements
