Role Description

We’re Hiring: Part-Time Finance Assistant

Location: Hereford (Hybrid working considered for the right candidate)

Hours: 24 hours per week (spread over 4–5 days)

Department: Finance

Salary: £27,000 FTE | £16,200 pro rata

We’re looking to expand our current finsnce team and are recruiting for a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Finance Assistant to join our small and friendly Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid finance background who wants to make a meaningful contribution in a flexible, supportive environment.

About the Role:

As our Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing supplier payments, and supporting month-end processes. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director and collaborate across departments to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately record daily transactions with appropriate ledger coding

• Manage accounts payable and reconcile supplier statements

• Input and process supplier and partner invoices, ensuring timely payments

• Reconcile all bank accounts and process related charges

• Review and process staff expense reports with supporting documentation

• Ensure all payments are supported and within available funds

• Accrue for unpaid expenses at month-end where necessary

• Keep fixed asset register up to date and post monthly depreciation

• Support donation income processing if required

• Assist in general finance-related tasks as directed by the Finance Director

• Ensure timely completion of tasks, communicating any delays as needed

Skills and Experience Required:

AAT Level 3 or above – essential

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role

Proficient in QuickBooks and/or other accounting software

Advanced Excel skills – essential

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organisational and time management skills

Able to work both independently and collaboratively

Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines

Working Arrangement:

Our office is based in Hereford, and while this role is primarily office-based, hybrid working may be considered for the right candidate.
