This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our brilliant finance team. They will play a key role in helping to assist with smooth running of the Finance department.

The role will be based in our Glasgow office.

We are open to considering applicants on both a full time and part time basis for this role.

The Job

You will be responsible for the administration and operation of all finance systems with particular emphasis on the Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, and Purchase Order Processing. You will work together with the wider finance team to establish objectives and take responsibility for managing a workload, organising and prioritising work to meet strict financial deadlines.

On a day-to-day basis you will be involved in the following;

  • Provide the core support for the team to ensure that client and company needs are met and the team runs smoothly, liaising where required.
  • Assist with retainer and project invoicing, ensuring invoices are sent on time to clients.
  • Posting bank receipts for customer accounts ensuring these are allocated to the correct invoices.
  • Credit control – liaise with clients and client teams to resolve sales ledger queries to ensure the fast turnaround of customer payments.
  • Process purchase invoices ensuring invoices are coded correctly, matched to PO and authorised.
  • Prepare supplier payment run on a weekly basis and urgent payments as required.
  • Liaising with suppliers and deal promptly with enquires and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Ensuring all supplier accounts are up to date and payments, direct debits and standing orders have been allocated correctly.
  • Ensuring a high level of accuracy whilst completing tasks.
  • Assist with the finance support of all other departments.

The Person

The position requires an experienced finance assistant with strong organisational skills, as well as system experience and advanced excel skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a small to medium sized company.
