Job summary

Under the supervision of the Finance Manager and Finance Officer, you will learn accounts payable/receivable, record-keeping and reporting within an educational setting, contributing to accurate financial administration.

Qualifications

• A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
• GCSE Maths and English as a minimum.
• Interest in finance, accounting or business administration.
• Eligibility to undertake a finance apprenticeship programme.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day financial operation and administration.
• Learn finance processes, procedures and controls per GDST policies.
• Provide a professional and reliable service to staff, parents and external contacts.
• Develop understanding of school finance systems and controls.
• Participate in apprenticeship training and apply learning at work.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
• Process invoices, payments and receipts per procedures.
• Support maintenance of accurate financial records.
• Assist with routine finance admin to ensure timely processing.
• Perform basic reconciliations and flag discrepancies for review.
• Support with audits and internal reviews as required.
