Work
What you'll do at work
  • Processing purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Raising and posting sales invoices.
  • Posting and reconciling company credit card receipts and monitoring expenditure.
  • Assisting with daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Completing and maintaining credit account application forms for suppliers.
  • Processing subcontractor payments and maintaining accurate payment records.
  • Learning about the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), including how it applies to the business and assisting with CIS-related administration.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing documentation.
  • Supporting the finance team with general administrative duties and month-end processes.
  • Assisting with ad hoc finance tasks as required.

Training schedule

This apprenticeship is a perfect match for someone withoutany accountancy or bookkeeping knowledge. On this programme they will learn thebuilding blocks of the modern accountant. Not only will they grasp thefundamentals of bookkeeping, but we will help them develop those vital skillsand behaviours to enable them to put their knowledge into action.

If you're new to accountancy and finance, looking to changeyour career into accountancy or have previously worked in an accountsdepartment this level is ideal for you. You don't need any prior experienceworking in accounts to study AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. There areno entry requirements, but you do need good maths, IT and English skills, and awillingness to learn.

You must successfully complete the following:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK).
  • Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC).
  • Principles of Costing (PCTN).
  • Business Environment (BESY).

Maths & English (grade 4 and above)
